Please join our peaceful protest! Let's line Washington St and stand for our immigrant neighbors and all who are impacted by ICE/DHS/Border Patrol cruelty.
We know that ICE doesn’t make our communities safer and that LOVE unites us all. It's also Valentine's Day, so we will mix some love songs into the playlist and have treats to keep us going. We are asking that you please wear red if you are so inclined.
Bring your friends & families, your signs, your warm attire, and most of all, your heart! If you've never been to a protest before (or it's been a while), this is a great place to start. We will have extra signs for anyone who would like one, and a few chairs for anyone who needs a rest
This is a local Indivisible event!

We want to thank everyone who has participated in this action. Your creative talents and enthusiasm for the project have been inspiring! Because of your efforts, we have created over 600 origami cranes!
We have been approached by the Bearing Witness group, who organizes rallies at the Burlington Ice Detention Center, to complete our action on a Wednesday with them. While I had wanted to complete this action as scheduled, it is to appealing to go with the Bearing Witness group. Each week they have close to 1,000 protesters at the facility. This would be a great chance for us to share our action with more people, and thus increase its impact. Yet there are other factors to consider.

We are inspired by the work of Project Tsuru, a group of Japanese Americans and others, who are survivors, families and friends of those in concentration camps here in the US, in WWII. They are protesting the use of concentration camps in the US.For more info, click the button below.
